Somewhere out there, somewhere over the rainbow, Puar has hired Japanese linguists who are awaiting your command to translate whatsoever you may type in this itty-bitty box so that you are able to know what the heck it is in another language! Suggestions would be your name, your friends names, and the ever popular katakana version of your favorite cuss words. The way this works is that your input is relayed to those aforementioned linguists in their little cubicles and they quickly hurry and scurry to sum up the closest katakana translation that they are able to in their hastened state. Given that they're in such a speed ballad of a rush, they've been known for a goof up or two and the occasional extra 'ru'.
